girls who had 6w sonos..UPDATED
we did IVF and put back 2 perfect embies. my first two betas were in the higher range - 197 at 8dp5dt (13dpo) and 497 at 10dp5dt (15dpo).
anyway at my first sono today we saw one nice size sac with a strong heartbeat. there was a second much smaller sac sort of behind the bigger sac, but dr. B said he didn't think it was going to be anything although we'll have to check again next week.
did anyone have anything like this and it ended up being viable twins?? im just curious. we are over the moon thrilled to have one strong heartbeat. we waited a really long time for this!!
UPDATE - Thanks ladies for sharing all your stories. It looks like we are having a singleton. The second sac was still there today (7w1d) but it hadn't grown at all and DEF was empty. I was a little sad but in the end I just want to go home with a healthy baby I have 8 frosties so there's always next time

Re: girls who had 6w sonos..
I had 1 with Dr. B at 6w2d. I had 2 sacs measuring the same with strong heartbeats. Then there was a 3rd much smaller sac that he saw nothing in. he didn't even mention it to us then because he thought it was nothing. The second appointment he saw the third sac with a strong HB but still measuring a week behind the other 2. After 10 weeks he sent us to a high risk, Dr. kofinas and the 3rd baby was catching up only measuring a day behind. We were about to schedule a CVS but at 13 weeks the 3rd baby's heart stopped and we are having twins in January. I am 28 weeks today. This is my story. I was freaked out and did some research on the internet, read books and stuff and there are many stories of women carrying twins and triplets and one of the babies were measuring behind. Congratulations again!!!!!!!

Re: girls who had 6w sonos..
We put back two embryos. At my first sono there was one sac. My beta's were high and I had OHSS that did not appear until about a week after my transfer. Everyone kept telling me multiples. I was confused after that first sono. The next week, the tech said that she saw something interesting... not what I wanted to hear! Well, what she meant was two strong heartbeats and "something else." That something else turned out to be a third (who stopped growing at about 7 weeks). I know that this is different from what you are explaining.... but my point is: anything is possible!

Re: girls who had 6w sonos..
I didn't have any IVF treatments.
But at 6 weeks my OB only saw one gestational sac and no heartbeat.
By 7 weeks we had 2 very strong heartbeats and 2 fetal poles. This is the same appointment where we found out we were having twins.
Many and sticky dust!

Re: girls who had 6w sonos..
First of all, I am just so happy to see you posting about a 6wk sono...yay!!! We had a similar situation...at 5wks, we only saw one sac and at 6wks, we saw two hb's, but one sac was much smaller and my RE said it might not make it. Low and behold, I have two healthy 3 month old babies sitting here with me! I think the docs need to be cautious, but that other one could absolutely make it. Either way, congrats and I am praying for a happy, healthy 9 months for you!

Re: girls who had 6w sonos..
i had a similar situation but with a 3rd sac.. it was much smaller than the others.. had a heartbeat too.. but didn't catch up. but when i saw Kofinas he said it could go either way. you usually know within a few weeks.
best of luck to you!!

Re: girls who had 6w sonos..
ladies, these are all amazing stories. thank you so much for sharing them.
is it bad to be hopeful that the second sac turns out to be something?? also, even though dr. B said its likely the second sac won't be anything, i am still hopeful and thinking he could be wrong.. the sac was def much smaller than the other sac, but it was also hard to see on the sono unless he put the wand in a specific position, as if it was hiding behind the bigger sac...
i dont want to be greedy, one healthy baby is what i prayed for!!

You are not being greedy at all! I can relate to this feeling very much. I know this is easier said than done, but see what happens and have faith (in God, your Doctors, or yourself... whatever you believe) that things will turn out for the best. Hang in there... and keep us updated!

actually i meant to note this earlier. my betas were high-ish and my OHSS didnt return until a few days after my BFP. i felt terrible after ER on days 3 and 4 and by my day 5 transfer i was starting to feel better. during the wait after ET i actually felt great (which scared the cra@p out of me). then a few days after the BFP i swelled up like a balloon and was in so much pain again, worse than i was after the ER. it seemed to get better last week at about 5w2d... how long did your OHSS last once it came back?

My situation was so strange. I did not hyperstim until after my transfer. They did not get a huge number of eggs (13) and I left for a much needed vacation the next day. I woke up in the middle of the night about 7 days after my transfer (while away on vacation with my ILs who knew nothing about what we were doing) very sick. I got sicker and sicker and called my doc when I got home on Sunday. I went in on Monday for my beta and was then diagnosed with OHSS. A doc actually said to me at that appointment that she thought it meant multiples (I was so upset she said that without even seeing my 1st beta, yet... but I guess she knew what she was talking about). My symptoms continued for about 3 weeks, got a little better, got worse again (I ended up in the hospital for a night), and then totally disappeared at about 11 weeks.
I hope you are feeling well. Hang in there!

thank you for sharing!! i did have mild OHSS after my ER (i have PCOS and im prone to OHSS, plus my e2 was over 5000 at ER). then it went away and didnt come back until after the BFP. im 6w3d now and its pretty much gone although dr. B said i still had fluid in my abdomen at my 6w1d sono. now im wondering if most of the OHSS went away because the second sac never developed
