need some job advice please :-)

OK- so, I'm a speech therapist and have worked in public schools. At the end of last school year, i was let go due to district budget cuts. i looked over the summer for a new position, and didn't really find anything. I've been able to collect unemployment though, and we've been doing fine, so i've just continued looking.

WELL about 3 weeks ago I went on an interview for "District A". its about 30 miles away from my house, and the position was only for three days a week ( I would prefer full time obviously) but figured with UE running out soon, some money is better than no money. They called about 2 days later and just said " sorry, you did great, but we decided to go with somebody else" ok... fine... no problem... i'll just keep looking.

a couple days laster, i saw that "District B" was hiring. this is about 5 miles from my house, and would be full time. YAY!! so i sent them my resume.

a couple days after i sent "B" my resume, i get a phone call from "A" saying " we know we told you we went with somebody else... but would you still be interested in the psotion??

i said " sure!"....since i hadn't heard back from district "B" yet, and part time money is better than no money.

SOOO today, i get an email from district A saying they would try to have me approved (by the school board) this week. I haven't signed a contract or anything with them yet, though.

LITERALLY as soon as i was done reading that e-mail, my phone rang, and it was district B wanting to set up an interview for Wednesday morning!

How do i handle this?? Obviously, if district B interview goes well, i'll take that job-- its closer to home and full time hours. BUT, if i don't get an offer from them, i'll take the part time for district A. Do i let A know that i have another interview set up and am waiting on that??? do i just try to put off signing anything official with A until i hear back from B??

i know schools are a different animal than a "Regular" business environment... so i aprpeciate any input Chat Icon

Would you need to sign a contract for "A" since it is part time? If you don't and "B" wants you after the fact-I would go to "B"-even if I already accepted "A". You have to do what is best for you. There has got to be a way to leave "A" on good terms without ruffling feathers in a district that you may/may not work in one day. Just a thought.
