gift for new assistant?
I am a relatively new professional and have a new assistant (she's been my assistant for less than a month). 4 of us all share the same assistant. What would be a nice holiday gift? Should I try to chip in with some of the others or give my own gift? I'd like to start off on the right foot but not go overboard. What types of gifts are most appreciated? TYIA

I don't think you can go wrong with a Visa or AMEX gift card. Perhaps the 4 of you can chip in $30 each and give her a $100 card plus a nice bouquet of flowers.
That's what I'd do but I've also been told I can be too generous.
Do what feels right to you.

Depends on your budget but a $50 card to some place she likes and maybe a box of chocolate or a bottle of wine if appropriate would work.
