Retro Fitness (Dix Hills)
Anyone belong? Anyone use the babysitting?
Thinking of joining, but, really need the babysitting to be available.

I've heard they've had a lot of issues with the babysitters not showing up for work. I don't go there, but I know of people who used to.
The gym itself is pretty much like planet fitness, cheap price, and your basic cardio and weight training machines. No classes, and the personal training is outsourced, not actually part of the gym.

I go with the 3 kids. I gotta say I was never one for a gym without classes but I love the flexibility of not being rushed to make a particular class with kids in tow. The cardio theatre is great and is like a total escape away from the kids, soemtimes I forget I'm even exercising! The AM babysitters are AWESOME! I go M-F and have never had a problem with babysitting. There were a few times at night I didn't care for a sitter. It's usually the same kids at the same time so my kids have even made friends. I love that I pay one price per month and not by the hour so I can have a nice workout followed by a long shower if I choose.
Let me know if you join and want to workout together. I'm usually there 10-11:30am every day.

Christine, if I join, it would have to be in the late afternoon (after 3PM). With my DS in school and DDs EI schedule I won't be able to do the times you go

Do you know what time the sitters are there until?

PM is 4-8

I go to Retro.
in the beginning there were some issues with with the sitters not showing up. But I think they have a pretty good team now. They worked out the kinks. I think because they had "teenagers" working it was hard for them to make in to work on time.
The gym is basic. No classes, bummer.
Some days we are there in the morning, some days in the afternoon. Depends what is going on that day. DD loves it. She is 21 months now and been going since around 9 months.
