Is anyone a former teacher?
I don't think I can do this for another 15 years or so- and I think it's time for a change. I am planning for the 2011-2012 year to be my last (unless the Mayor gets his way and I am laid off in June)
Anyway, I need/want to know: 1. What happens to the pension and 403(b)? I have 15 years so I am vested. 2. What were you qualified for? Are you at entry level? I am fine if this is the case- I just want to know what types of positions to apply for. 3. Do you have any regrets?
Any other tips/info would be greatly appreciated!

I am not a former teacher "yet", but I just wanted to say that I am in the same boat as you. I am done and looking into other career options.
I am trying to find out information on being a career counselor.
Good luck with everything
