Has anyone here taken the ATSW (or any other teacher certification test)?
If so, I have a couple of questions:
It says on my ticket that no cell phones are allowed on the site. Does this mean I cannot even go in the building with it or will they confiscate it before I enter the exam room?
How was the test? Any tips? I am nervous.
Can I get some good vibes for today, I would appreciate it.

They don't check your bags so just make sure they are off. All three times that I went I just left my cell phone in the car just in case I forgot to turn it off or they decided to check for them.
I found the test very easy! Its just basic common sense on how you would handle various situations. Some of the questions are tricky because they ask for the best reaction and 3 of them will sound good! Don't be nervous! I didn't study at all for mine and I passed with flying colors!!
BEST OF LUCK!!!

I agree and all of my luck to you- I have always brought the phone in with me, turned off and in my bag- my bags were never checked-

Re: Has anyone here taken the ATSW (or any other teacher certification test)?
I took the ATSW quite a few years ago, but I remember thinking that it was not that bad.
I took the literacy CST last year and I had to turn in my cell. I was not going to, but I decided that it was not worth the risk. However, I did take out the memory card so that if it was stolen, it was no good to whoever got it. At the end I got it back without a problem. There was a table where you left it before going to the testing room.
I would have left mine in the car if I'd known.

Re: Has anyone here taken the ATSW (or any other teacher certification test)?
Thanks ladies!!
I feel a lot better, I am just going to take my chance and leave it in my bag turned off. What can they really do about it?
Thanks for the well wishes. I did some of the online questions and I found some of them confusing. I thought it was going to be a breeze! Maybe the actual test will be a lot better.

Good luck...I just got back from the CST disabilities test. Some girls cell phone went off during the test and they just took it from her. They didn't check anyones bag or anything.

the ATS-W is really easy. It's common sense type questions.

I had my cell phone with me, but off. They didn't check bags. The LAST, ATS-W, and CST were easy IMO....LAST was probably the most difficult, so if you already took that, you'll do fine. GL!
