Lost my Baby

We found out today at my 8 week sono that the pregnancy is most likely not viable. Dr. said he will check again on Monday bu the chances are slim. I know you girl know the horrible feeling...the not understanding. We hope to try again soon, but is it harder the second time? we got pregnant on the first try. Do miscarriages make it harder to get pregnant? Are d & C's safe? my dr. says they are the fastest way to start trying again. is this true?

I hope things are better at your next appointment but if it is a loss I have been there.

I also got pregnant on the first try. At my second sonogram I saw the baby stopped growing/heart stopped beating. It was terrible. Worst day of my life. I chose to have a d&c for a few reasons. One of them was so we could start trying again sooner. We figured the sooner it was over the sooner I would start cycling again (and I did, 30 days later I got my first period post d&c).

There are some risks with a d&c that I am sure your doctor will discuss with you. We also wanted genetic testing done and I didn't want to deal with getting the sample myself and bringing it to the doctor. Our results came back that everything was normal. If I have a missed miscarriage again (which I pray I do not) I may not have a d&c again. It can't be good to keep repeating the procedure and this time the results came back normal so I don't know if I would bother to test again but who knows. Hopefully I don't ever have to make those decisions again.

I do want to try again soon. I want nothing more than to be pregnant again but I will admit that I am very scared. My doctor advised us to wait 3 full cycles. I got one post d&c period so I have 2 more to go. As far as getting pregnant again I hope it happens easily again but I'm not counting on it. I have heard from a lot of women on here that they got pregnant within a few months of trying after a d&c, some right away.

I'm so sorry I'm going through the same thing right now so if you want to talk, vent, cry, feel free to FM me. I'm also learning what the steps are after m/c so I don't have answers to your questions but just wanted to let you know that we're all here for you.

i am so sorry for your loss. i am in the grieving process still - i was 20 w and it happened 3 weeks ago to date. as hard as it is, just try and stay positive and know that whatever happens is in gods hands and happens for a reason...

Ive heard its easier to get pregnant after the miscarriage but I wouldnt know yet. We got preggo with dd in 6 months and this last one in 2 months. We are just hoping and praying.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My D & C went just fine and I was pregnant again with a healthy pregnancy 3 cycles later.

The first time we TTC we had a m/c at 8 weeks and I had a D&C. We had to wait 3 cycles which took about 4 months. Then we conceived on the third cycle trying - healthy who is now 2.5.

For #2, we TTC'd for 4 months and got pregnant, same situation as you - found out at 8 week u/s that it wasn't viable. Dr told me to come back in a week - she wanted to see if I could have a natural m/c instead of D&C. I m/c two days later. That time I only had to wait 2 cycles since it was natural (D&C's can make your lining thin so most Dr's make you wait 3 cycles but not all). I'm now on my 3 cycle TTC again. All in all, we're at 1 year since we started TTC for #2 and that is hard. I have friends that are due soon that started TTC after me. It's really hard and never gets easier. I'm hopeful that this is my cycle!!!
