Weight Watchers poll
Just out of curiousity, which program do you like better: the old points program or the new points plus program?
I'm just wondering because there are alot of women on this board raving about the new program, and then on LIW yesterday there were a bunch of women who hated the new program.
I personally like the new program better- I feel like I'm making healthier choices.

Re: Weight Watchers poll
So far I really like the new program. It pushes me to eat healthier and follow the healthy guidelines. I feel like the old program didn't emphasize the healthy eating as much. If you could have a banana for 2 pts or a chocolate chip cookie for 2 pts, which would you choose? I know I would have chosen the cookie. Now healthy eating generally = less points. You can have those sweets but it'll cost you more, ya know?

Re: Weight Watchers poll
The new one, hands down.
I used to follow Core, but would occasionally go back to Points when I felt like I needed more structure. I HATED counting points for fruit when I would do that. I was at 18 points/day...using a few on fruit meant that I would have barely any to go on for the rest of the day.
I am loving the new plan. I'm only a week and a half in and I'm never hungry.

Re: Weight Watchers poll
I hate the new plan I really do! I think they should have given ppl especially lifetime members a choice whether or not to do the old or new one! I just dont see how a banana can go from 2 pts to nothing! I still count it as points! Also I am told to eat 35 pts b/c I am on maintenance and I did that and ended up gaining weight so right now I am eating 29 pts and am still counting some fruits into that. Fruit is loaded with sugar I don't see how it can be zero pts. ONe of the ww leaders in Wantagh flat out told me that the program works great for ppl who are just starting but that for lifetime members they still have yet to master it. The whole free fruit thing she said is an issue but they haven't mastered the plan. How do you roll out a new plan without it being complete. Sorry vent over

Old plan. I still follow it. Ot has helped me take off 35 pounds so far. I feel that I can live within its requirements once my goal is reached.
One ww leader refuses to talk to me until I convert. I think she drank too much of the ww kool aid....

Re: Weight Watchers poll
I *think* I like the new plan just because I hated using my points for fruit and it pained me to have to use 2 points for oils when I only got 18 points per day. Plus, I feel like I get to eat more on the new plan and am making very good choices. I can live on this plan long term.
The only thing I'll say is I feel like I lost weight a little quicker on the old plan than I am on the new plan. But, I only have a few pounds to lose now so that could also be why I'm not losing as much.

I completely agree with all of this! Well, except the only a few pounds part, .

Re: Weight Watchers poll
I'm only a week into the new plan & I like it better than the old.
I still need to get use to the higher points on items I use to eat that were low. However, I've been eating LOTS more fruit & veggies to fill me up - so thats a huge plus.
I just hate that things that I loved and use to eat more on the old program have gone up so much...I feel guilty eating them at the higher points. This may be because of my experience with the old system - I keep forgetting I have 29 pts not 20.

Re: Weight Watchers poll
When I re-joined in December, they had just rolled out the new plan and I HATED IT!!! I was about to cancel my membership - but then I remembered that there were things about the old plan that I didn't particularly like either. I'm not a fruit eater so that part wasn't a draw for me. So I really had to make a conscious decision to follow the plan.
Even though the Points values have seemed to change - the points themselves aren't even calculated the same way - so they aren't points. They are completely different, and we get more to work with. I really took a good look at the new plan, read the discussion boards on WW, and re-evaluated my eating habits.
When I got to that place, I was absolutely envigorated and embraced the new plan. I'm eating healthier than before and am really happy with the results. I'm discovering new fruits and flavor combinations that I would have been too hesitant to try before.

Re: Weight Watchers poll
I like the new one, but i do have some reservations
1. I HATE that they make you buy a points caclulator or you have to have a monthly membership to DL the app. To me, its being greedy. I don't know the new point values and I already have it in my head what they were on the old program and its a total PITA to keep checking the book.
2. I haven't really lost anything yet (its my 1st week back). When I first joined the program with old points I lost 5lbs my first week. Idk, ask me again when I weigh in Sunday
Overall I'm glad they made fruit no points because I always had a hard time being "penalized" for choosing fruit. I felt like I had too little points on the old program (18) to spend on an apple. Now at least I feel like I'm satisfied and not really starving, but again...ask me after I weigh in Sunday

ITA! I'm not a huge fruit eater normally, and I don't like veggies at all. With the new plan, I have been eating at least 3 fruits a day...I would have never done this on the old plan because it was too many points, which is probably why I failed at the old plan and didn't stick with it

Re: Weight Watchers poll
I like the new one because I do feel it's healthier, but I am definitely not losing as much weight. I rarely use my weekly points, usually have around 45 activity points banked that I never use, and only eat two, or rarely three, fruits per day. I have lost 5lbs in 5 weeks. It's a loss, so I'll take it, but it's definitely slower than it was on the old plan- for me, anyway.

There's an app out there that's free to download called 'WW Points', and its accurate. I tested it along with someone that has the calculator. To be fair, the calculator is cheaper than in years past. I typically leave my house with just my phone and wallet at times and figured it'd be one more thing to carry, so I downloaded that app.

I def. agree the fruit its calories (and sugar) coming in. It's strange that its not counted.
Although I'm lifetime I have also been only using 29 points. If I used 35 I really think I would gain.

Personally, I like the new plan much better! I have been on it for three weeks now and I feel like I am more successful at my weigh-ins than I was on the old program. It is definitely promoting healthier decision making for me.

I'm so glad most fruits and veggies have no points (well, most). I definitely didn't get fat eating strawberries and oranges!!!

I really like the new plan...other than the fruit thing (which is big for me), I haven't really given it much thought. I honestly don't feel like it's that much different...
