Heart skipping a beat...does this happen to anyone else?
Sometimes, I feel as though my heart skips a beat. This is usually how it goes:
1. Notice the skipped beat
2. Get a small adrenaline rush (it's almost like I feel anxious for a split second)
3. Heart beats again a second later than it should have, and harder than usual.
4. Everything goes back to normal again.
This used to happen to me every once in a blue moon, but it's happened to me 3 times today. I'm really freaking myself, and I'm going to call the Dr. tomorrow.
But in the meanwhile...has this happened to anyone else?

I have something similar. Dr's have no idea what is causing it. Have had tests done, but of course it never happens during them...

That happens to me exactly as you described it. It comes and goes. I haven't had it for a few months. There have been stretches of time when I would get it many times in a day. Earlier in the summer it was happening often enough and I went to my pcp and he just said it was typical palpitations. Anything from caffeine, decongestants, anxiety, dehydration could be exacerbating it.

heart palpitations can be caused by many things, it's a good idea to go and get yourself checked with a cardiologist.
I have MVP and I have constant heart palps,I developed some heart issues during pregnancy so I am on medication.
I'm sure you are fine, but it's always a good idea to get checked.

ITA with this, keep a note of this and your health and what you have taken when the palpitations occur. Def check it out though, always better safe than sorry

Hormones can cause palpitations too. It would happen to me around AF.

I had this and was told I had mitral valve prolapse. For me anyway .. it was minor and harmless. I wasn't given any drugs or restrictions to manage it. When I went to the dr to get checked before surgery over the summer, they did an EKG and said it was fine!
ETA: It flares up when I'm under a lot of stress!!!!

try to stay away from caffenine and artifical sweetners. Also try to log them and see if they are happening during ovulation and/or AF. I have a lot of cardiac issues that aggravated by hormones, caffenine, artifical sweetners, alcohol, dehydration, and lack of sleep

That used to happen to me and stopped when I went on anxiety meds. hasn't happened in years now.

I had that when I was PG...Exactly as you described it, and they were able to see if happen on the cardiac monitor. My cardiologist said it happens for a lot of reasons, from thyroid issues, Pregnancy, post pregnancy, liver and kidney issues, and for me it was determined I was anemic ( very)...as soon as I started on the iron and got the anemia under control it went away so fast! Have them do a blood test for your iron levels.
