Re: Vday?

Not a big day for us. We are going to see Strawberry Fields at Kodiak's on Saturday and have dinner. I have class on Valentine's Day anyway so I won't see DH til 11:00 PM.

Re: Vday?

Our tradition is to go out to dinner with our best friends. We pick a fun restaurant and then go to a bar. We've been doing it for years now. DH and I exchange cards and a token gift, but thats it.

I've never been into it.

But since I'm seeing someone, I have to tell him that I don't do the cards/candy/flower thing...

When making the grocery list, I had to remind DH that Monday was Valentine's day.

He responded with, "So, you want fondue?"

He'll probably even do laundry like any other Monday. I will *try* to not work late, but other than that business as usual.

HaHa Yeah I just posted on another board that I just discovered Mrs Fields makes chocolate cookie dough balls and they come in chocolate chip and peanut butter. So that will be part of his lil candy gift.

Re: Vday?

We usually exchange cards but not gifts.

I think it's kind of a stupid, made-up holiday that lead to high expectations.

DH did tell me that he wanted to do something this year since our first one married, so we're going to dinner on Saturday somewhere. He knows me well - the last thing I want to do is be in a restaurant on a holiday. Chat Icon

Re: Vday?

Not really a big deal...

We'll exchange cards and DH (before we were engaged) would send flowers....

This year we agreed not to do anything..just not worth spending the money.

Just another day.

I have a board meeting at 7 pm on Monday, so there will be no romance.

Re: Vday?

Not a big deal at all.

It's kind of a joke actually...because DH and I met the day after V-day.

He always comes home on the 15th with V-day candy that is 50% off. Chat Icon

Re: Vday?

not a big deal. We hate overcrowded restaurants with overpriced limited valentines day menus so we rarely go out on Vday and dont do big gifts either. Usually we exchange cards and DH buys me inexpensive flowers.

This year we are probably going to Qdoba for dinner because they are buy-one-get-one on Vday Chat Icon

Re: Vday?

not a big deal... we actually have always gone to dinner the day before (which we will do tonight also because it wont be as crowded) were going to the movies and either chillis or CPK for dinner...

its my moms bday so we always celebrated it... but it was never a huge deal because my parents never celebrated alone (at least not that i remember) lol

Re: Vday?

We'll be having an exciting day of going to work, coming home to wait for the cable guy to come fix our cable, going to the gym, and going to sleep. Probably nothing romantic! Maybe if it were on a weekend, we'd make a bigger deal of it... but even then, I don't want to deal with crowded restaurants.

Re: Vday?

Usually flowers and dinner, either the weekend before or the week after. We had our special dinner on Friday and he surprised me by sending flowers to work. Tomorrow I have to work late, so I'll just cook a nice dinner when I get home.
