Purina One?
Is that a good food to give Molly? In the past she has eaten Nutro Lamb and Rice, Iams, and Beneful. She gets sick of food so fast so I wanted to get her something new.
Any info before I open this bag would be great!
TIA!!

Thanks. She seems to want no part of it though. I may have to get something else tomorrow.
Do you use a specific brand?

We just switched from IAMS to Innova, and I swear, almost over night, the boys' coats were darker and silkier!

Ohh - really? And they eat it? She seems to not want to eat any dog food at all.

Re: Purina One?
Nope - she just really doesn't like food and I think the antibiotics are making her appetite worse.

Re: Purina One?
Feebi went through a phase where she didnt want to eat. I would do anything to get her to eat. I added some water to her food to make a little gravy or some shredded cheese. It was troubling me at first because all the other dogs I have been around are always so anxious to eat and finish their food in one gulp.
Feebi is still not like that. She eats on her terms and chews every single piece. Sometimes now we will put her food out and she will just walk away from it and wait for us to finish eating first (she would sit by the table and just wait to see if she could get some of our food first before she ate hers) as soon as we finished she would eat her food. Basicaly they wont let themselves starve so I really wouldnt worry too much.

actually SD isnt very good for dogs, its actually one of the worst..... yet some vets still recomend it . its like McDonalds for animals... hence why they like it so much, if i were you i'd maybe consider weening her off it onto a better food. sorry to tell you this

you mix it in with her current food right? cuz youre supposed to ween them off their old food onto their new one... not supposed to do it cold turkey. if you do they can throw up and most likely get diarreah (sp?) .... it can also explain maybe why she wont eat some new foods.

Yes I mixed it in because I have a few cup fulls left!!! I had no clue she could have gotten sick if I didn't. Thanks!

Re: Purina One?
to be honest ill never understand why vets recomend Science Diet.....
(along with Iams and Eukenuba)
i thnink maybe some of them have a deal with food brands....
ill try to find some info on SD and why its not so great. all i know is on ALL the dog forums ive ever been on, if you say you feed SD you get flamed majorly.... i believe its got "meal" and "bi-product" in it... which are two ingredients you want to steer away from.
the cat food differs from the dog food. it may be much better. ive never heard of anything about the SD cat food. but i know my friend uses it for one of her cats with problems..
here's a link comparing some dog foods.
sorry to hijack diana
eta: just found out that Science Diet uses "brewers rice" as well.... another no no product

when you change dog foods its best to do it this way:
at first use 3 parts old food, 1 part new. then a few days later half and half then a few days after that 3 parts new food 1 part old then all new food

Casey eats Science Diet all the time. It's the only thing that does not give her diarrhea. I am going to look into some more organic food but for now SD is what we use.

Re: Purina One?
p.s. Science Diet along with Iams and Eukenuba performs unethical animal testing.
