St. Patricks Day at school....
My DD's teacher just asked me if I would like to share something with her pre k class on st patricks day ( I am from Ireland).
Any ideas?
They are serving green bagels to the kids that day so I guess cupcakes are out of the question and I was going to do those anyway.
I assume she meant a story or tradition etc but do you think a craft would be appropriate? if so any ideas?
Growing up in Ireland St. Patricks day was a holy day where we went to mass and wore green shamrocks but I doubt the kids would want a field trip to the local church
TIA

What about a story about where leprechauns are from? or who St. Patrick really was? Forget the snake charmer thing.
eta. By the way, thanks for the reminder. I have to order my kids' t-shirts!

Thanks...I might do the story thing....I thought a craft might be more fun but maybe it will be a novelty for someones mom to read instead of the teacher.
Looking forward to seeing pics of your March 17th high jinks!

My MIL used to make layered Jello parfaits in the colors of the flag of Ireland.

Did you eat soda bread growing up?
I think you would be surprised by how the kids will respond by telling a story. DH grew up in Spain and brought churros in for DS's VIP day. He just told the kids how he remember being sent to buy the churros for breakfast and the kids were all over it.

That's great! My DS preschool won't allow any kind of food celebrations bc of the food allergy situation.. I really wanted to make cupcakes
