Tonight's episode of Parenthood
where they explain Asperger's to Max. So well done. I feel like this show is really putting Autism on the map and giving people a glimpse in the life of a child who deals with this every single day. The challenges the family deals with every single day. And the beauty of family. I really  this show

channel 4 on Tuesday's at 10. They have a child character Max that has Asperger's. They have really done a great job showing strategies that have successful results as well as what a complete meltdown looks like. I think you can go back and see past episodes on-line. Totally worth a look

I made DH watch this episode finally with me.
When Max had a meltdown at the roller coaster, DH asked me "are we going to deal with that kind of thing ever?" and I had to remind him about the 3 incidents since January where we've already had similar situations.

i really love this show.
Being one week post partum i found myself breaking out into hysterics just seeing the commercial for this episode.
I really thought it was well done.

I've been watching the show since it started a year ago and while I wasn't thrilled when Max first was diagnosed with the portrayal of special needs parents-I was curious about last night's episode. My DD is starting to ask questions why her kindergarten class is different and why she goes to speech/pt/etc. I use the positive spin thing as well.
I thought it was really well done!
