Anyone read "IT" by Stephen King?

Just finished again, and I was thinking.... if IT *wasn't* killed, or a baby survived and is on the same schedule...... this year is 27 years from the last event.... Chat Icon

I read "IT" for the first time in high school. It is, by far, the scariest thing I've ever read in my life. I was scared to go outsideChat Icon Chat Icon I seriously do not think I could read it at this point in my life. I would freak!!!

This is my favorite "scary" book of all time... besides The Stand, which I believe is in a category all its own.

It's funny you posted this because when i re-read IT last year, I was thinking that it would be one more year until another event... hope the good people of Derry, Maine, are prepared just in case Chat Icon

IT was one of the only books that ever kept me awake at night because I was scared. I read it such a long time ago but I still remember leaving the lamp on for a little extra time while reading that book.

LOVED that book when i first read it

i used to have to put something over the cover of the book because i didn't want it in my room with me at night!! The old cover was this really nasty green claw thing coming out of a sewer (this was before they made the movie) and always scared the he l l out of me!

to date, one of my favorite SK books (and i have a lot of them)

I LOVED this book. OMG Pennywise has to be one of the scariest characters ever.

I am also a HUGE fan of the Stand. and I was pleasantly NOT disappointed in either tv movie.

IT...I think the ending wasn't as good nearly as in the book...but I think tv does a way better job with turning his books to movies (the Shining and Carrie notwithstanding)

me too! In the hallway of my parents house there is a table outside my bedroom. I first tried just turning it over on my night table, but it still scared the crap out of me. I ended up putting it out in the hall on said table, cover side down, LOL!

I may have to reread this now.
