Town of Huntington camps
Anyone have any feedback on them? When does the summer 2011 schedule come out? I tried researching online but I'm not finding anything yet.

Last year, I sent DD (51/2) at the time to Town of Huntington Camp at Crab Meadow.
It was 9-2/M-f for most of the summer. You could pick and choose the weeks you want. It was great, swimming lesson, arts and crafts, etc. The only negative was that there was no camp if it rained.
The recreation schedule didn't come out until about May last year- I think.

I have doen the half day playground camps and they are great. i was thinking about Crab Meadow, but I don't like the rain days and being out in the sun all day, so I think I'm going to do Dix Hills (and put my LO in a Dix Hills playground camp). I was a counser and there are so many fun activities to do.
There's also Camp Soundview and Camp Seahawk, but they are opened to certain SD residents first and some weeks fill up fast.
The brochure may be out, since those two camps start registration in march. Otherwise the others are May. Be careful though, my SD playground camp closed so fast last year 
If you go to the town website - look for parks and recreation and scroll down to the bottom - there is a link for the pdf of the brochure (it might be last years', but it will give you a good idea.

There is also Camp Goldstar which is held at Gold Star Beach and Coindre Hall.

I'm pretty sure it came out in the late winter/spring Recreation booklet - the one that contains info about the golf courses & skate parks, etc.

toh - parks and rec info
scroll to parks and rec. camp info should be in the winter/spring 2011 pdf.
swimming stuff is not out yet... or the playground camps

it's not out right now, but it will be on this page: http://town.huntington.ny.us/department_details.cfm?ID=13
you can click on the register online link on that page if you want to register for one of the camps that fill up.
Otherwise, I think the borchure is usually mailed out in April.
