NST for twins...
I have my first NST scheduled for next week. About how long do they take? Is it the same as a single? When I was pregnant with DS I'd be hooked up between 20-30 minutes.
Just trying to figure out how long the appointment will take so I can get the right person for DS
edited for typo

Re: NST for twins...
yeah same amount of time. they just hooked me up to an "extra" monitor and did both babies at the same time.
but it seems like every time i went i ended up having a biophysical profile (or whatever its called! LOL but like a sono) b/c DD was always wedged so far down they had a hard time keeping her HR on the monitor for the NST. just want to prepare you....sometimes they end up taking longer!!!

I had both the same day, too. I just had the biophysical profile first.

Re: NST for twins...
Thanks for the heads up!
I was told I'm having a growth sono and NST. From what I remember with DS a biophyisical is different, right?

When I had the biophysical, the tech measured amniotic fluid, blood flow in the umbilical cords, heart rate, and observed several types of movement. There may have been other things, too, but she didn't mention them. She did not measure the head and femur to determine size (growth) at that sono. I am having growth sonos every other week, so my next one is next week.
Hope this makes sense! Good luck!
