Have you considered Weight Watchers? It's such a great plan: its easy to follow and is more of a lifestyle change than a diet. Even if you only have to lose a few pounds, once you hit your goal weight (and maintain it for 6 weeks) you get to go for free!!

figure out what you have been splurging on (you said you were eating and drinking a lot) and cut that out immediately.

i say cut out any alcohol, soda, and packaged junk food right away and see what happens from there.

also any foods or drinks that trigger you to eat more than usual.

I used to have 3-4 sodas/iced teas a day. Now I only drink water or seltzer and feel so much better and not as bloated. Not drinking junk has made such a huge difference.

How quick? You could not eat, that would be quick!! Chat Icon jk

Drinking definitely ruins things...so I'd quit that. Go low carb, or no carbs after 5 or 6pm...I've heard that gets good/quick results. No sugar. Omit snacking. Don't eat any processed foods. Don't drink your calories..do this all for a few days. This can't be anything you haven't heard before!!

Try a fast...a fast consisting of only eating veggies and fruit for a day. Exercise A lot.

I always think of doing these things for myself for a few days in a row to see what would happen but I never stick to it Chat Icon

Re: i need a kick start diet!

This is my second week I have been doing no carbs, high protein diet and drinking tons and tons of water. I feel so much less bloated.
For me WW doesn't really work for me this is the only diet that works for me. I did it last year around the same time.
I am also working out 4 or 5 times a week.
Good Luck!

I have never done this, but I've always wanted to do a detox like this one. This is Gwyneth Paltrow's blog and it is really interesting!

Re: i need a kick start diet!

I used to do WW a few years ago, and I gained all the weight back and then some. I am not overweight according to my BMI, but my clothes don't fit me either.

I am currently doing a low carb mail order diet, but I am also making my own food as well. I am going to order one more week of meals and then I am probably going to cancel because its expensive.

I lost 5 lbs the first week and 2 lbs the second week. Tomorrow is the first day of week 3.

I find for myself that low carb gives me better results, I am not as bloated as I was with low calorie/high carb diets and Im not starving all the time like I was when I did WW.

IMO if you want a jump start, this is the way to do it. The only thing is, you CANNOT cheat on low carb because that one bagel or whatever full of sugar is going straight to fat, where on WW there is probably a little more room to cheat.

I was against low carb for so long because I thought I would miss the carbs, but I really don't. I have a little sweet stuff, but I fit it into my limit and since I don't eat it all the time, I am satisfied with just a little.
