New with a question
just came back from first doctors app't - i was 9 weeks. Sono tech didn't see anything. They took blood and will call me tomorrow with results.
what will happen next....will i definitely bleed?? (doctor didn't say for sure) and i was hysterical crying, so didn't even ask enough questions.
so upset, i had ton of preggo symptons. I also gained 5 lbs. All for nothing.

Re: New with a question
i'm so sorry did the doctor see an empty sac or anything in your uterus? i'm sorry you are having to go through this....after multiple losses i know one of the hardest parts is the waiting. it's pure torture. all the girls on this board are so sweet and we will support you. is there any possiblity you are still earlier than you think? are they doing a repeat sono?

I know the waiting is hard, but wait to see what the blood results say tomorrow (I read your other post).

Re: New with a question
thanks. there was an empty sac. they said they would call me with blood test results tomorrow and then decide based on results if they want me to go back for another blood test and sono on monday. I'm def. not earlier than what i thought. I know the days we bd, and that would not make sense.

i forogt to answer your original question....all my losses have been different than what you are going through but the doctor will probably see if you bleed on your own and then if not, send you in for a d&c. other girls here can probably tell you more than i can.
the waiting is terrible so please let us know if you need anything

Did they measure the sac and say how far along based on the measurements they think you might be?

I has a natural m/c last year and i had pretty bad cramping and stomach pains for several hours until the sac passed, then i was fine. Luckily, i was home but i was in the bathroom about 90% of the time, it was very emotinal experience, i was hysterical the whole time. i knew i was starting to m/c bc i started spotting the day before.

sorry for your loss as well. I think i might prefer a d&c. I don't do well with pain, and i don't want it to come while i'm at work or on the train.

Re: New with a question
Ladies, I am SO sorry you are both going through this
I was not as far along as you, but I had a bit of cramping (nothing excrutiating) and bleeding. I wasn't in a lot of pain, but I did get very sick. Sorry to be gross, but I had bad diarrhea and vomiting and was incredibly weak for a day. It doesn't sound like that's the norm, from what I've read, but that's what happened to me.
Again, I am SO sorry, and we are hear for you.

Re: New with a question
First, I am so sorry for your loss (to both ladies)
I had an empty sac at 8 weeks. They told me I was measuring at about 5 weeks...I knew my dates weren't that off though. It took about 2 more weeks, but I m/c naturally (I didn't want a d&c). I started bleeding very lightly on a Friday and by Monday it was like a regular period. I passed most of the tissue on Tuesday...that was the worst day. I won't lie, it does hurt more than period cramps but I'm happy that it went naturally. Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Re: New with a question
thanks everyone for your support. Just wondering what the advantages of miscarrying naturally are as opposed to D&C???

Re: New with a question
If your doctor gives the option, I would honestly recommend having a D&C so you're not living in constant fear of miscarrying.
I had one after a missed miscarriage and it was not bad at all, much better than waiting it out in my opinion. I just wanted everything out of me so I could move on and try again. I had no pain and very little bleeding.
ETA: the benefit of miscarrying naturally over a D&C is that there is an extremely small risk associated with the D&C (puncturing the uterus/scarring)

Re: New with a question
I would see what your doctor recommends.
It took me six weeks for my miscarriage to end. I bled on for about four weeks. On/off, very lightly for two more weeks. I had bad cramping and then passed the sac. I thought it was over and done with at this point so I was shocked (all of my sonos came up clean and I was getting negative pregnancy tests)
I was happy that I didn't have to go in for a D&C but looking back, it was a much longer process than I expected and emotionally I would have liked to be done earlier.
Your doctor will recommend the best course of action for you though. Miscarrying naturally isn't much more than having a period. Some only bleed for a week - some three weeks- I bled for six. Everyone is different.
I'm so sorry you are going through this. It's a terrible experience regardless of how you take care of it. We are all here for you

Re: New with a question
thanks everyone..i guess my main concern is that i work in the city and i'm scared to go into work next week for the fear i may miscarry at work or on the train. I only work mon-wed, but i'm so scared of something happening at work. I guess i'll ask the doctor about this tomorrow. I think i'd prefer a d&c also because i just want to move on and put this past me , at least for the phyical part. I know emotionally it will take more time to move on.

It really wasn't like that. I thought it would be - but it was like a period - lighter and heavier at times. Some people don't even know if they pass the sac.

Re: New with a question
i am hoping to m/c naturally before my d&c next week only because i'm extremely scared about having the procedure and complications. as i posted before my last m/c was quick, i bled extremely heavy (passing clots and finally the sac) sorry TMI, with bad cramping for several hours and that is it. i had pretty light bleeding/spotting for only 3 more days following. it took 6 weeks to get my period again after the m/c.
i would see what your dr recommends, you have to make the best decision for you!

Re: New with a question
I am so sorry. I had a D&c at nine weeks. For me i just wanted it over with and didn't want to walk around knowing that i was carrying what was no longer a viable pregnancy. The procedure was pretty painless and allowed me to move on. Everyone handles this differently and after much debate that was the best for me.
