Half Marathons this fall?
Anyone know of any half marathons OTHER than the Diva this fall? I was so excited to train for the Diva Half, but it turns out I have a friend's wedding the night before and it doesn't end until 2AM!  So my sister and I were hoping there would be another half to run in the NY area around the same time. Anyone know of any or where I can look???

There is the Hamptons Half...not sure of the weekend. My fave is the Entenmanns / Bay Shore half. It is the same weekend as Diva, but on the Sat, so you might be able to do it! Flat, scenic course and only $25 compared to $65 for Diva. IMO a better race too

My friend did the Westchester half last year, its the weekend after the Diva.

the Staten Island half is on 10/9.
I wanted to run Diva last year, but it was the day after my wedding. Figured DH would be a little annoyed :)

The Philly Long Distance Run (I think it's officially a rock N Roll half) is in September. I hear it's flat - I haven't run it, but it's on my list.
The Mohawk-Hudson Half Marathon is Columbus Day weekend - in Albany. I ran the full marathon and it is great - net downhill (although I think more so for the full than the half) - it's small and intimate, but the people cheering are great.
ING Hartford is also Columbus Day weekend. Very well run and Hartford is pretty flat. It's on the larger side, but the half and full split off after a mile or so. I did the full, so I don't know how packed the half is. I really did enjoy running through hartford though.

I heard that they don't do this race anymore.... is that true? when I google it all get is info for the 2009 race. did they have it last year?

I did PHilly last year and it was my favorite half ever (not my best time) but still my favorite. Very organized and music at every mile. Cheering crowds were great. Over 20,000 ppl did it. The route was so nice and scenic. I highly recommend it. I may even do it again this year.

Yes, they had it last year. They tend to post the info late for this race.
I heard a "rumor" that Entenmanns is not sponsoring it this year and that another company will be. Not sure how true, but I heard it from someone who works closely with the running community.

Thanks for the info! I'll keep an eye out for it if i don't sign up for the DIVA Half.
