Guaranteed Room
I posted last week on the NFR board about planning a cruise vacation. Well my Dh and I booked a guaranteed inside stateroom on Celebrity to Bermuda. We gambled on the guaranteed room to save the $$$. Well I just checked-in online and got our stateroom number. It turns out it's a room with two upper berths!!! I am so sad. This is my DH's first cruise and we will be sleeping boy scout style in separate upper bunks I read a recent post about people's experiences with guaranteed rooms. Am I foolish to pray for a room change or upgrade when we arrive at the port???
I am so dissappointed.

Re: Guaranteed Room
I would call the cruiseline and explain that you have no issue with your cabin location, but you'll be traveling with your DH and would like to be able to sleep next to him. In a worst case scenario, find out how much an upsell would be and just pay the difference.

Re: Guaranteed Room
Tell them it is your honeymoon, or anniversary - -- they tend to be more sympathetic then.

Re: Guaranteed Room
I think that if you call the cruise line and explain your situation they will work with you. You might have to pay a little extra money.

Re: Guaranteed Room
I work in the cruise industry and am almost 100% sure that Celebrity does not have any cabins with only bunk beds. It could be that it is a room that can hold 3 or 4 people - where there would also be upper berths along with a queen size bed. If you let me know the ship and cabin # I can look it up for you.

Re: Guaranteed Room
I work in Travel. If you are on the Celebrity Zeneth an inside cabin features two convertible lower beds or a double bed. An O/V features a window (some with obstructed view) or porthole and two convertible lower beds or a double bed. If you are in a suite it will features large ocean view window, two lower beds convertible to a queen-size or double bed, mini-bar, sitting area and private bathroom with tub.
I have a group of 100 going on a cruise and their biggest fear was the bunk beds.
You can either go to celebrity.com and view the staterooms in a virtual tour or contact celebrity cruise lines and get additional information about the room. If it's something not what you expected just be honest with them. Tell them it's your husbands first cruise. They are usually pretty nice about first time cruisers.
