If you snack throughout the day....
Meaning - snack for energy and workouts - not chips and ho hos
What kind of snacks do you take in?
I have almonds, some kind of energy bar (Luna, Raw Revolution, Clif), and/or fruit
I used to make little almond butter sandwiches on wheat crackers - I am thinking of doing that again
I am soooo sick of hummos. i need to take a break from it!!!
I am looking for more ideas. I don't eat dairy except for one fage yogurt a day, so I won't eat string cheese or anything like that, which I know is good for protein....
I need some new ideas!

Lately I've been making protein shakes for after the gym. I like to snack on a cup of cheerios. I LOVE oranges- thats another favorite of mine. Baby carrots too.

So glad you posted this because I've been drained mid-workout and realize I need to eat a better snack before the gym. I read that bananas are good to eat before working out.

I snack a lot - carrot chips, an apple a day, popcorn, chobani yogurt, banana, laughing cow and/or baby bell cheese.
If I'm home after the gym or something I'll take a 1/2 a whole wheat pita and spread 2 tsps of skim ricotta on it, a sprinkle of crushed walnuts or almonds (maybe 1 tbs worth) and drizzle the whole thing with honey. It's SO GOOD and filling. I got the idea from Martha Stewart Living and I believe it was a low cal snack idea.

Slice a banana (lengthwise), spread some almond butter, add some crushed walnuts and lightly sprinkle cinnamon It's sooo good! I also dip apple slices in the almond butter too.

I just thought of one more thing. LOL. I make little zip lock baggies and fill it with raw almonds, walnuts, a few small pieces of dark chocolate and original beef jerky (from trader joes) Definitely a great snack for after a workout or during your day!

My go-to snacks are...
Hard boiled egg dry roasted nuts (peanuts/almonds) Dried fruit (raisins, apricot, mango) Fresh fruit (fresh mango is my fav!) Fage 0% with granola and berries Light string cheese Light laughing cow cheese w/carrots Peanut butter on a light english muffin with sliced bananas (YUMMM) Peanut butter w/apple slices
