what can I do on the treadmill for 30 min...

To burn the most amount of calories? I've heard of doing like a few min running, a few min walking on an incline? Anyone know more about this?

I do HIIT on the treadmill...I will do a 5 minute warm up jog and then I sprint for 30-45 seconds and walk for 45seconds to a minute! LOVE it!

I don't know if what I do is effective or how many calories I burn...
but this is my usual 30 minute routine:

I walk at a fast pace (for me i think that is about 3.8 mph) and then every 4-5 minutes, I run (I run at 5.0/5.5 mph) for at least a minute. I go back to walking and then run on the next 4-5 minute mark.

I do the whole workout on an incline. Right now I use 4% incline.

I have 2 treadmill workouts...

The first is a straight run for the entire 40 minutes.

The other I do an 5 minute interval run. For example;

1 minute at 4.3 mph
1 munute at 5.3 mph
1 minute at 5.5 mph
1 minute 5.7 mph
1 minute 6 mph

I repeat this 7 times. Then cool down for 5 minutes

I do not use an incline

you can alternate running/walking or increase the incline

you can walk for 2 min/jog 2 min or walk for 3 min/jog for 1 min - depends on your fitness level how long you want to keep the walk/run time

incline - you can walk a certain incline for the duration of your work out or you can play with that too...high incline for 1 min, lower incline for 2 min, etc.
