Reread Something Borrowed
and loved it even more this time! Some of her quotes are just so amazing!
"I think to myself that when you're in love, sometimes you have to swallow your pride, and sometimes you have to fight to keep your pride. It's a balance. But when the relationship is right, you find that balance." — Emily Giffin (Something Borrowed)
"Songs and smells will bring you back to a moment in time more than anything else. It's amazing how much can be conjured with a few notes of a song or a solitary whiff of a room. A song you didn't even pay attention to at the time, a place that you didn't even know had a particular smell." — Emily Giffin (Something Borrowed)

Re: Reread Something Borrowed
I love her books...one of my favorite quotes comes from Love the One You're With....
"And unless you marry your high school sweetheart (and even sometimes then), there is usually a not-so-glorious back story. There are people and places and events that lead you to your final relationship, people and places and events you'd prefer to forget or at least gloss over. In the end, you can slap a pretty label on it- like serendipity or fate. Or you can believe that it's just the random way life unfolds."
Has everyone seen the commercials for Something Borrowed???? Can't wait to see it!!!!

Re: Reread Something Borrowed
I am SO excited for this movie. I read the book back in 2004 in 2 sittings in my back yard and had to put it down because I was either crying or nodding along with what Rachel was saying.
More recently I reread Baby Proof and loved it so much more the second time around. My all time favorite Emily Giffin quote is from that one:
I spent the rest of the afternoon explaining to Zoe one of the very saddest notions in life and love that sometimes the timing is all wrong and sometimes you realize the heart of the matter way too late in the game.
I love all of her books so much!

Love that book! I am excited for the movie but I don't like Kate Hudson as Darcy. I think Kate can portray Darcy's personality, but she physically looks nothing like the description of Darcy. I dunno, I think they could've casted someone else. We'll see soon enough
Just finished reading Love the One You're With today and am about to crack open Heart of the Matter now

Re: Reread Something Borrowed
LOVE this book! I am reading it now and almost done!!
I love all the lines from the book!!
Does anyone know if Something Blue is as good?
Also the movie looks great but seems different than the book right? Maybe its the way the trailor is edited, but it seemed different.
But I did not picture Darcy as Kate Hudson.
They got Rachel 1000%%% correct. that is EXACTLY who I thought would play her.
Darcy should have been someone more gorgeous, model like. I dont agree with Kate Hudson at all.
But I am excited to finish the book and see the movie as well.

Re: Reread Something Borrowed
I saw the movie last Friday and just finished the book for the second time last night.
I really liked the movie, but LOVED the book even more the second time. They changed a lot for the movie...but it was still good.

Re: Reread Something Borrowed
I just finished reading it and the whole time I had Kate Hudson as Darcy in my head because of the movie. I could somewhat picture her as Darcy.

Re: Reread Something Borrowed
I saw the movie and liked it a lot - but, it's been awhile since I had read the book. I just requested it from the library to re-read. Hopefully I can get it for my upcoming vacation!
Something Blue was a great book as well for the pp who asked.
