Stomach bloat
One of the things I've noticed more recently is that my stomach is almost always bloated. This is probably one of the reasons I feel like I'm not seeing any change in my stomach area - I probably am loosing a bit of weight there, but its ALWAYS bloated so it doesnt seem like I am.
Anyone else suffer from this? ANy ideas on what it could be from? I dont experience any pain with the bloat, its just always bloated. Literally, it looks like I'm 3 or 4 months pregnant a lot of days.

Re: Stomach bloat
My stomach gets very bloated after I eat a big meal.
I find that I have less bloat when I eat smaller meals throughout the day.

Re: Stomach bloat
I am fairly small, but to be honest I notice this bloat even before I've eaten anything for the day. For instance, this morning I had eaten nothing yet, arrived at work and only had a small iced coffee and I was already VERY bloated.

Re: Stomach bloat
This is my life struggle for the past 5 years! I hate it and I don't understand it. It also happens if I take too many days off from exercising (2-3) and from salad..maybe the ruffage?? But even a glass of water or coffee with make this happen to me too.

Re: Stomach bloat
I get bloated when I eat dairy, so I try to avoid it as much as I can, but sometimes its worth it to have ice cream now and again!

Re: Stomach bloat
Yes! I have IBS so thats to blame most of the time. Add stretched out stomach muscles to that (I have pretty bad abdominal seperation) and you get bloated much easier. Do you have abdominal seperation?

I just checked and I have very very little. Like one fingers worth of separation...so I dont think that's the culprit.
IBS runs in my family so I'm wondering if it could be that. Although I dont have the same symptoms that my mother used to get with IBS.

Drinking and a lot of salt add to bloat. How much water do you drink a day?

Not enough. I probably only drink about 25oz of water per day...plus about a 12 to 14oz iced coffee every day. I dont drink soda at all anymore though.
I try to limit my salt intake. Usually I'm pretty good about it, but I'm sure my dinners consist of a decent amount of salt. Plus, I get fast food probably once every 2 weeks and that has a TON of salt.

Re: Stomach bloat
It also may be worth it to check out if your uterus is enlarged. All of a sudden my stomach felt so bloated & I truly look 3-4 months prego--I asked Ob/gyn; had a sono & sure enough my uterus is enlarged. She said not to worry about it--but it's frustrating
