Academic Summer Camps/Programs

Does anyone know of a summer day camp that offers a program with an academic component to it? They would do the usual camp day activities (i.e. swimming, sports, etc.) but they also incorporate a couple of hours during the day devoted to math, reading, and writing.

I want to find something that has a balance of play and academic for my 7 yr old son because I feel like he gets the summer brain drain. I live in eastern Nassau. TIA!!

Seriously I'm putting together an excel spreadsheet of every camp in my area, the dates, times & amounts. We aren't sure if DH is off this summer so I have to register last minute.

There are science camps,marine camps (learn about marine animals), african animals workshop, reading workshops, arts & crafts, creative writing, etc.

Fordham has a special reading program, but I haven't entered the info yet on my sheet.

Look into museums, art leagues, colleges around your area.

I hvent found anything with a real mix of traditional academic and sport. We are going to make our own mix by doing a week here a few weeks there etc. There are a few science programs around that look nice, CTSL has a program that looks good. I havent heard of anything at all that is math focused. For reading we do the summer reading program at our library and just make sure he sticks to his reading min. of 20 minutes a day.
