We have a new addition to our house!
Meet our new puppy. We don't have a name for him just yet. But we are known for that. Our 2 other dogs were called Mr. Black and Mr. Red (the color of their hair) for 3 days.
He is a Bull Mastiff. Only a bit over 4 months old. And yes... OVER 60 Lbs. already.
We just got him last night. We will have our first Vet visit this week.
He is a cutie. He will need training. NO DOUBT! But he is a kisser and a loving dog. And did not mind when DS was taking the ball from his mouth.

The smallest (the alpha of course!!) growled at him. He is doing better today with the concept that we have another dog.
The other one... a total wuss was excited at first. Still is but still a bit scared. Especially when the BIG ONE started walking after him in the house. He was just curious!
They all hide in my legs.
Except the baby, they slept on our bed last night so they did not feel they were replaced.
New doggy.... no bed EVER!!!!

You are a brave woman. I always thought we'd want three dogs but even with no children, we changed our minds and said it would be too much.
I hope they get a good pack order set and you have peace! Congratulations, he is adorable!

So far the smallest dog is STILL the alpha. Baby is learning to leave both dogs alone. He thought twice today about coming too close to the alpha one. He still tried. Even my sweet little wuss growled at the baby today (unheard of!!!) for following him to close in the house. The baby is learning. I expect my little wuss that was #2 before the baby to come in 3rd in the pack order. And if I had another dog he would become 4th.  That's the story of his life. Being a wuss!
Alpha and I had a few "looks" together today. I told him I knew it's not what he wanted. Baby was here to stay. He just had to deal. I speak to my dogs like real people. He is "kind of" accepting. Still growls but not as much.
They have to co-habitat!!!!!

Sounds like they're figuring it out. As much as it annoyed me, not being able to just TELL them how pack order should work, I knew I had to just let them do their thing.
If the "baby"  is listening to the growls and body language, and responding appropriately, that is super! Only another dog can teach that kind of communication & etiquette. That's going to be so important as your new baby grows, since his normal view is going to be looking down at the alpha, which in itself is a dominant thing. I wouldn't be surprised if you find your new baby laying down/crouching around the alpha more in the future.
It took about a month for mine to truly settle in. The first week was fairly calm, the second and third there were a few spats over toys (that I broke up by bellowing TIMEOUT!! which scared the crap out of both of them) and then the last week was a minor occurrence.
Although the pack order is set, my wuss will still antagonize the boss - Ginger - and then run away, making her chase him, and I always laugh. It's so cool seeing how their personalities and environment changes.

My wuss does that to the alpha in the backyard. He is faster than the alpha so he takes advantage. That's his time of "glory".
