Dr. Timothy George - please give me your opinions
I hear mostly good things about Dr. Timothy George... can you tell me what you like/love about him? Please be specific.
I'm looking for a doctor who is as good for my baby as he is for ME in getting me through first time motherhood re: patience, knowledge, etc. Is he "the one"?
Thanks!
ETA:
Do they do blood work in the office or make you go to a lab?
What's his general thinking about vaccines/autism? I know some docs won't give a vaccine before 2 years of age to help lessen the anxiety of parents regarding the alleged connection.

Love, love, love this practice. All the Drs are wonderful and the nurses are amazing. They all have wonderful beside manners. They are not pushy at all. For instance I do not get the flu shots for my kids and Dr. George recommends them but he didn't try and convince me that I had to do it. They have great hours and I never have a problem getting in for an appt. I would highly recommend them!

Re: Dr. Timothy George - please give me your opinions
he is great
DS was in the hospital at 6 weeks old and he was with us every step of the way. Coming in to see us 2-3 times a day...
They are very good..I have never had trouble getting an appt when DS was sick. I would get one within 2 hours
The Nurse practioner is great as well if you just have regular questions to ask. You can call her and leave her a message at anytime
DS freaks out everytime we are there (just doesnt like going to the doc) and they are great with him. Helping me calm down as well..

Re: Dr. Timothy George - please give me your opinions
Great practice! When I first had DS I had an insurance that they didn't take but was planning on switching to one they did take within a month so that's why I went with them from the beginning. Then the new insurance didn't kick in for awhile because of issues with them but Dr. Georges office was more than accommodating, taking that first insurance anyway. They nurses are great. I was there when DS was only a month old and they whisked me into a doctors office just so I wouldn't have to wait in the waiting room with a newborn just in case anything happened, like him getting sick from others even though they had a separate sick room they still wanted to be extra careful. The nurses are always great with him and so friendly. The drs in the practice that we have seen have been great. We had to go 3 times for unexpected visits and they took us right away. They listen to all my questions, never rush me. They ask if I have questions and even give me information that I might not have thought to ask. I EBF and they never pushed formula on me, never doubted my ability to feed my son.

Absolutely love this practice! The only negative was when I had DD in 2007 the wait time would be horrendous, but they have since taken on other doctors so the wait time is usually pretty minimal.

For the 1yr blood work you go to a lab, but they do some stuff in the office.
I would say they are definitely a pro-vaccine practice as they follow the CDC schedule. At one point after I had DD, they had signs up in the rooms saying if you choose to not vaccinate they were not the practice for you. Honestly, I am not sure if they lessened their stance on that as I follow the CDC schedule so it is not an issue for us.

I love the office! I have not had a problem there. Dr. George did leave a bad taste in my mouth but when I think about it right now I was overacting a little bit. I am due the end of July and hope to have Dr. George in the hospital again.
I had my DS 1 year blood work done in the office.

Edit to add: I love how they have Sunday appt. just for newborns

Re: Dr. Timothy George - please give me your opinions
Just wanted to update: I had DS' 1 year well visit yesterday and they did the bloowork in the office. I was so excited because when DD turned 1 (2008) you had to go to a lab.
