Before TTC....
I'm sure this has been asked before, but DH and I have been talking about TTC. I was just wondering what you ladies did as far as BCP were concerned. I have been on BCP for 5 years. How long before we want to TTC do you think I stop taking BCP?

I stopped BCP 6 months before ttc and my cycles still aren't regular. Everyone's body reacts differently but I'd allow yourself plenty of time to regulate.

My OB/GYN told me to have 6 regular cycles. Some ladies here have been told less, so it depends on what your doctor tells you.
I've been on BCP for 10 years, so I think that is why my doctor wants me to wait 6 months.

It's so wierd how different dr's give different info. My dr told me I didn't have to wait, as soon as you go off BCP bills the hormone is out of your system. There was no need for a waiting period, if you did get pg right off BC there would no increased threat of a m/c.

Yup. My doc told me not to wait more than one cycle. He also said that the length of time I was on BCP wouldnt interfere with TTC and I was on BCPs for 15 years. I regained my cycle in 34 days but it is important to know that everyone is different.
