Summer Worksheets

I want to have my kids do worksheets over the summer. For my soon to be 2nd grader, do I give him "1st grade" or "2nd grade" worksheets? Same for my Kindergartener to be?

As a teacher I'd say start off w/ their current grade level (unless the website says beginning K, end K, etc--which is rare). You don't want to intimidate them if they can't do the work. The review is also good to start off with as they've been out of school 3 weeks all ready.

I'd then see how they were doing & you can always move up to the next grade work.

I also want to say that's a great idea; I wish more parents would do. You'd be surprised at how much they can regress over the summer.
