Summer Hours!
Who here gets to enjoy Summer Hours at their jobs?
Starting this Friday, until the Friday before Labor Day, our company allows us to leave early (1pm) on Fridays, as long as we make up the lost time & work during the week.
I'm sooooooooo excited about it this year, because since we merged with another company, everyone thought that we wouldn't be allowed to this year!

LUCKY 
Law firms do not participate in summer hours. For all the years I've been working, its 9-5, M-F, year round

we get flex days
in addition to vacation days, we get 7 days to take off during the summer

I definitely think that all companies should participate... it boosts employee moral.

I get 8 half day friday's from now until mid-septmeber .. that's not including any company-wide holiday 1/2 days

Though my industry is the WORST we do get summer Fridays.
We get 8 Fridays off inbetween Memorial Day & Labor Day.

Our hours used to be 9-5 but then my boss said if we took half hour lunches then we could leave at 4:30...So we took it...whatever we can get...

Summer Hours/Fridays are pretty much offered a lot in Companies in Manhattan. My current, and last two jobs offered S.H. to their employees to let them get a head start on their weekends.

Starting this week until Columbus day, I have to work 6 days a week.
ETA: Our vacations have to be taken between October and March. My job bites!

My company has this. You need to work 30 minutes extra every day to get a half day every other friday or 1 full friday off a month. I dont bother with it though...I already work only 6am to 2pm...I am out early everyday

Same here Felicia. I work 9:30-5:30. Law firms don't no such thing as summer hours.

Okay, I'm totally going to get killed here, but my company offers us two choices for Summer Hours. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we are given the option of half day fridays every week with M-Thurs 9 - 5:45 OR alternate Fridays off with M - Thurs 9 - 5:45, and the Friday at work 9 - 5.
I always pick the alternate Fridays off - and that's in addition to the vacation days etc. we get per year.... ANd it starts next week, after we get to leave on Friday at 1, and have Monday off for Memorial Day!

I don't get ANY of this but DH has a 3 day weekend, every Sat, Sun and Monday off the whole year! He works 7-5 4 days a week.

No summer Fridays at all, meaning I will be working 8:30-5:30 all summer as always. Soooo, not only do I have no half days but I have sucky hours. I dare someone to top this. Now, what do I win?
