South Huntington SD - Oakwood

Hi! I have my first child going to Kindergarten! Anyone have any scoop on the K teachers or the school in general? Thanks!

My son is entering the first grade Oakwood in September. We had a wonderful experience his first year there. He had great teachers (he was actually in a blended class so there were two lead teachers and two paras). There are several programs throughout the year to get the families involved in the school.

The first day of school is a half-day for the kindergarteners. A parent takes the bus with their child and sits through the abbreviated school day and then rides home on the bus with their child. I found that really helpful for both my son and I.

Hi. The is my first post after years of just reading! I also have a Kindergartener(?) starting Oakwood as well as one who just finished there! You will love it there. All the teachers are great. FM me is you want more info on the teachers and routine.
