Re: do you go away during school breaks?
We go visit my MIL in AZ for feb or april. The flight is always packed. We usually go to CA for disney land, which is OK since we go midweek.
We went the first day of Passover one year and it was PACKED. We try to go Feb, since the west coast doesn't get the full week...just president's day. Plus Feb is rainy season for CA- keeps some people away.

We are going to brave Orlando in April this year. Our break is early, the first week of april so I hope we are going earlier than most.

Re: do you go away during school breaks?
No! We decided last year that when Easter and Passover breaks are different and the catholic school and public school have different weeks off, that we will plan a trip to the Bahamas with the kids.
Well, got our school calendar last week and wouldn't you know it, this coming year they are the same weeks.... So we'll be waiting a little while longer!

Re: do you go away during school breaks?
We've personally done cruises during February break (prior to kids) & there is always over 1000 kids on board & it's a zoo. The flights are also crazy & we usually have to come home a day early or that Monday as the flights are booked. It is also $$$; the prices drop dramatically at other times.
It's once every few years that the public/Catholic schools have different Easter vacations; but having been away during this time; it's MUCH different going away during the Catholic school breaks when public school is in session.

Re: do you go away during school breaks?
We usually ski during President's week (Vermont or Western Mass.) and go to West Palm Beach/Singer Island during April break...we don't go away during Christmas break.
Skiing is always busier on the weekends, but it doesn't really bother us either way since our kids are in ski school and we get to relax and ski ourselves! The flights are so expensive to Florida in April and there are a million people...this year we are driving to avoid the cost and the craziness!

We go upstate to see foliage and then again to ski/sled, and to Montauk for Easter break. Not too crowded at all.

Re: do you go away during school breaks?
no mostly due to finances but I don't think I'd like traveling at that time anyway.
