DH- Teacher

Hi All
I am new to the site.. but my DH has been teaching for 3 years (career change) He was part year leave replacements for 2 years and then last year was a full year fifth grade teacher.. hired as a term position and then it would turn probationary with only 2 years needed for TENURE... after last year.... WELL... with budgets.. the position was DONE AWAY WITH... He's been on 2 interviews this summer..... made it to the second round at the last one and then never heard back (even after the principal said that he was giving the GREEN light)

He is signed up to SUB in 3 districts.... He is so down and depressed..

He is certified in Childhood Ed. Middle Childhood Education (5th-9th) and we just applied for English 7-12th (Just passed the CST)

Just needed to vent and get some encouragement from fellow teachers or spouses of teachers.

Good luck to him. Many of us have been there or are there. Unfortunately the market stinks and this is the situation for many.

Re: DH- Teacher

Ditto here....

Lost my job bc of budgets and now I have nothing. Pretty depressing. It's so hard to go back to subbing when you've had your own classroom.Chat Icon
