Scholastic books....
...how often do you order and how many do you order? I see some for very good prices and was thinking about buying for Christmas, other gifts, etc. but how often do these book sales happen?

Re: Scholastic books....
I love the Scholastic Book sales...we've had teachers who send them home once a month (which I love) and teachers who do it only a few times in a school year.
I tend to order a few copies of whatever the 95c book is, even if we have it already. We end up sharing them with friends and family. They are almost always great classic books.
I also have ordered puzzles, lacing cards, learning sets if I found them to be age appropriate. They make great stocking stuffers.
And then of course my daughter's favorite character books --- if anything new "Pinkalicious" comes out, or "Froggy" we have to get it!

They usually sent it home once a month. Love ordering from them. Prices are good. I usually set a $10 limit for DS and he can only order books (sometimes they have video games in the brochure).
I let him choose what he wants and then I choose a few also. I remember my mother letting me go wild and order a bunch from them when I was in school.

Re: Scholastic books....
We get them home every other month or so. Plus, once we are registered online with the school/teacher code, we can order anytime we want.
I always order. Prices are great and they do make great gifts too for school aged kids.

Re: Scholastic books....
If your kid's teacher sets up an on-line account, you can log in and order on-line. With that ability, you can also order other items not on the book list! It is a great assesst! And a dangerous one as well!

Re: Scholastic books....
In my class I send it home at least once a month & sometimes they have special order forms (holiday books, Summer book, etc.); but as BigB said, ask if the teacher can set up online ordering--the teacher gets $3. for every parent order received & it's convenient all around.

We order online. I like them but don't love them b/c they are all soft cover generally. I am just a sucker for hard cover books for kids.

Re: Scholastic books....
Love Scholastic! I am sitting here with my coffee right now online ordering. Getting a few things for now to celebrate the beginning of the school year, and picking up a few things to hold for Christmas.
ETA: DD's school sends home the forms once a month.
