Re: need a new gym...
I belong to Lucille Roberts. I like it because the room where they do the classes is big, they have childcare, and it's cheap.
I go to the one in Massapequa or the one in Bay Shore.
I go to the one in Massapequa on Thurs nights after I pick my kids up at my ILs in Wantagh so it's only 10mins from them. I go to Bay Shore on the weekends b/c I live in Lake Ronkonkoma and it's about a 15min trip.

Re: need a new gym...
we are in N Mass and when we moved i had a hard time finding a convenient gym. Lucille Roberts was a pain to get to after work from traffic wise. I ended up joining LI Fitness on Carmens's Rd (by the DMV) . Its actually nice and not to $$$. They changed over to Xtreme tho a few months before I canceled my membership (starting kickboxing at a martial arts school instead). But they were clean, it was huge and had pretty much everything you could want... except I think you had to pay for babysitting.
If I ever rejoined I would look at World Gym in Seaford/Wantagh. I know its $$ tho.

I heard World Gym in Wantagh is really nice. It was expensive though. I think they quoted my $70 a month. But the place looked really nice.

Re: need a new gym...
I'm not a gym person, but I always recommend to those who live in the area to check out Hot Yoga Massapequa if you are looking for something new and different.
If anything, go to the 10 days of unlimited hot yoga for $20.00.
I only think it's worthwhile pricewise though to get a monthly membership if you can commit to at least 3x/week or more.
