COBRA Mess / Perscription Cost
Shot in the dark - but wondering if anyone can help me out.
I recently got a new job which I don't have insurance through. My previous employer gave my COBRA provider the wrong date of coverage termination so now COBRA wants me to pay 4-months of back coverage (and I don't have that kind of $$) so now they opened a case to look into it.
In the meantime...
I am on the generic Yasmin (Ocella), but since I'm not currently covered, does anyone know offhand how much it would be without insurance? I'd really rather not skip this month's pills. I already called my doctor but they don't have any samples.

Re: COBRA Mess / Perscription Cost
I was on generic BC a few years back and I think it was about $50 w/out insurance ($10 w/insurance). I would call around to different pharmacies and see how much they charge b/c it could be different.
On a side note, I would also try to talk to the insurance co. and see if you can work something out (like a payment plan) so you can have coverage now. I was in a somewhat similar situation a few years ago and was able to do that.

Thanks so much! I wouldn't have ever thought to call the insurance company!

Re: COBRA Mess / Perscription Cost
Good luck. You should be able to call your local pharmacist and receive a quote on the price as well.
If you are able to straighten out your insurance, you should be able to submit your receipts and be reimbursed minus the copay you were supposed to pay.
