School pictures
Is it standard practice that you buy the pics before they are taken? I received an envelope asking how many of the pics I want and the package # but they werent taken yet. I dont get it?

yup, we pay in advance...the studio that the nursery school uses states that it has a "guarantee" so if you don't like the photo you can request a reshoot...

OK, that makes me feel a little better. What if I wanted to add to it? TBH, I was shocked at how cheap the pics were. The highest price package was like 40 bucks.

i don't know how that works...our cheapest package is $40 and then you have the option to add on whatever you want at $x price, i have no idea what happens after the fact, i think ours even said something like all orders need to be placed in advance...

yes. We pre-pay for our picture package. And we have the option to re take them if we don't like what we get back. And I had my son retake his last year.
When you get the pictures, you'll have a ton of paperwork in it if you want to order more.

The last few years the photo company my DS school used gave us a code on the return envelope that we could use on their website to order more pictures, different designs and backgrounds. If you put in your email they would send emails when holidays rolled around to get the same picture with a holiday background.
The company we used was Herf Jones.

yes and honestly most years I take better pics and the school pics I bought dont even get sent out to family. What a rip off. Id love to buy just one class pic and one small one of my child but of course thats not an option. (Maybe because people scan them and make their own copies?) IDK

I thought the same thing...its odd that we have to pay first without seeing the picture. I just hope DS's picture comes out good
