another diarrhea question
I have 3 new cats. 2 kittens, 1 adult. Over the weekend I think the adult cat started some diarrhea. One of them did, but there is also solid poop, so it's not all of them. I think it is because of stress in a new environment and change of food. They were rescued, and then staying in a foster care type place until I moved into my new house. I provided food, but the food I provided was not always given (because "they didn't like it") and a lower quality food was given. When I got them, I gave them only the better food, which I think they got some of the time, but not all of the time.
So, I'm about to get more food. Do I keep providing the same, or go back to a mix of the lesser quality food and the new food? I'd rather stick with the good stuff and not keep changing their diet around.
Kittens seem fine and happy. They play a lot, sleep a lot, and are affectionate. Momma is still rather calm, but has contemplated playing---she comes out when I am playing with the kittens and gets involved a little before going back to her condo. She also started rubbing up against me when I pet her. She is still scared of my young children, so I keep them away most of the time, and they only get "supervised visits". My 2yo is adorable--she lays by her face and says don't be scared, I love you. she even had her paw the other day and was trying to show the cat how to use the scratching post. (I stopped her from that.) Anyway, all of this is to say that the cats seem healthy other than the diarrhea in the litterbox. They were spayed/neutered/vaccincated the week I got them. I'm taking them to the vet for boosters and another check up next weekend. Any advice as to what I should do for the diarrhea in the meantime? Especially with the food I need to get now.
Thanks!

Yes, and they were treated just in case.
Ok great. Then maybe its just the food and the changes.
I dont know if I would do anything or add anything else to the mix re the diarreah (sp).
Sounds like its going great. Love your DD laying with kitty....so cute.

Re: another diarrhea question
I'm a little worried that even though they were tested and treated, maybe they got it anyway, or the medicine wasn't given correctly--since I didn't do it myself. I moved up their vet appmt to this sat. With so many changes, I want to be sure they are ok and get treatment if anything is wrong. they are eating less (though they still seem to run to the food when I first put it out) and still have diarrhea. they are drinking water just fine, which is good.
