South of Broad
What a weird predicament this book put me in. . . where I HATED the writing and HATED the story but actually LIKED the characters so I wanted to see what happened to them.
Did anyone feel like this book was all over the place? It was like five genres rolled into one poorly written book. . . I was NOT happy!

It was like Pat Conroy made a stew of every book he ever wrote and this is how it ended up. Some of his books (The Great Santini, The Prince of Tides) are my favorite books ever. South Of Broad was terrible.
It was like he tried to take all the elements that worked in his other books and combine them all in this book. It didn't work AT ALL.
