Can someone recommend a point and shoot camera?
We have one now, it's quite a few years old, and it's on it's way out. We would love a big fancy shmancy one, but we just can't afford it right now. So can you recommend your point and shoot? what do you love about it, features, etc?
TIA

NOT Kodak. I went through about 6 point n shoot cameras in 2 years, through no fault of my own! I've been converted to Canon now, but I don't have a point & shoot.

Nikon Coolpix
Looks fancy but it's relatively inexpensive. I think DH got ours for under $200. I think it takes great pictures and the zoom is much better than a regular point and shoot.

What is the flash like? Does it go off a million times? The camera we have now takes a good 4-5 seconds to take the picture from the time you press the button until it snaps the picture -- and the flash blinks like 3 times.

I'm usually the one behind the camera but I think it only goes off once.

Re: Can someone recommend a point and shoot camera?
If the flash goes off twice it is for redeye reduction. The first flash is to adjust the eyes and the second flash is the "real" flash. Most cameras will allow you to turn this off.
We have a Canon point/shoot, something like this. It does not have a viewfinder so keep that in mind if that is a feature that you like to have.
