Reading Slump!

I was on a role and reading 3+ books a month. Then last month I started to read "I Don't Know How She Does It" and couldn't finish it. I am 1/3 thru it and don't want to even continue or pick a new book!

Anyone else fall into reading slumps sometimes?

Re: Reading Slump!

Me! I was trying to read 100 books in 2011 and I was doing really well but sometime in june I just stopped. No matter how many books I downloaded in my nook I had no desire to read anything. Now ill be happy if I get to 50 books this year!

Re: Reading Slump!

I was looking at my list the other day, and feel the same way..I think I only read like 2 books in September, when I had previously been reading so much more Chat Icon

Re: Reading Slump!

OMG! I know what you mean! It was one or two books this summer that I just got stuck on and couldn't move forward. Now I'm 2 books behind my pace to make my goal for the end of the year and I'm having trouble catching up. I was 3 books behind, but Chelsea Handler's books are such a quick read so I grabbed one of her's.

ETA: I blame the busy summer and the gorgeous fall weather! It makes me want to go out and do stuff. I've also been on a baking roll for 2 weeks and by the time I'm done baking, I just fall asleep over my book.

Re: Reading Slump!

I feel like September kicked my butt! LOL I am 1 book behind on my reading goal tracker for the year.

I think I was crocheting too much and just out enjoying the weather.

I think I might pick up some kind of quick read!

Yes! About 2 weeks ago, I was reading a book every 2 days, and some days, even a book in a day. All on similar topics. Since then, I can't get into anything and keep starting and stopping books, and falling asleep as I read. I'm giving myself 1 more week to see if it changes. After that, I'll get out of the slump by buying a new book that I know is my kind of book.

A good quick read is My French Wh0re by Gene Wilder. It's like 100 pages. But very, very good.
