endometriosis/laproscopy questions
I had a csection 10 months ago. I have not felt right since. I have had 2 pelvic sonos that only showed some cysts and a fibroid. My gyno thinks I have endo (which my mom had horribly and needed a full hysterectomy at 40)
Anyway, I am considering a laproscopy to diagnosis the endo and check for scar tissue and maybe clean me out to help with the constant pain I feel in my lower right abdomen.
Any experience with any of this. What was the laproscopy like? Any relief for anyone with endo? TIA

Re: endometriosis/laproscopy questions
from what i've heard, if you had endometriosis you would have had a hard time getting pregnant. i think usually a diagnosis of endo comes when you are experiencing infertility, not the other way around kwim?
i had a laparatomy about 10 years ago to remove 2 dermoids, that was the invasive procedure so i can't speak to the less invasive one.
if you suspect scar tissue from the c-section in your tubes/ovaries, i think an hsg is another option if you don't want to go through the laparoscopy.

Re: endometriosis/laproscopy questions
I had a laperoscopy to remove some endo, a D&C (to clear everything out), and an hsg all done at the same time. The surgery itself wasn't that bad - I had it on a Wednesday and went back to work (I'm a teacher, so on my feet all day) on Monday. This was in November of 2007. I had suffered with horrible periods my entire life and wanted to make sure that there would be no problems with TTC the following year.
Good luck to you! FM if you have any questions!
