What kind do you feed your fury friend?

Im on second kind (organic) and shes bone skinny.. really bone. It looks like i starve her, yet feed her two large helpings. Her stool is solid so dont think any health issues and vet hasnt said anything bc shes world skinnest boxer. Getting nervouse shes 16 months old think she should have more bulk by now.

Re: boxer owners, food?

I don't have a boxer but I had a really hard time finding a food to put a little bulk on my boy too. When my dog was a puppy he looked emaciated even though he ate a lot. He's over two now and still on the thin side but he filled out a lot more and doesn't look like I am starving him. Once I found the right food and also started making him a homemade raw diet, he finally started to fill out. You may just have to find the right food for her. You can also add some meat, eggs, or cottage cheese to her diet. She might need a little more fat at this point. Good luck.

I had the same problem with my German Shepherd. I mix Nutro Lamb and Rice (gives a super shiny looks like you were just groomed but wasn't coat) with Eukanuba sporting or active. My boxer and pit bull also eat this and I must say that my boxer filled out nicely. We got him at 9 months old.
Good luck

Re: boxer owners, food?

ughhhh, my boxer is the biggest pain in the a$$ with his food!!

we have tried everything!! he seems to like something and then a few weeks on it he goes on a food strike!!

we just recently switched to blue buffalo wilderness dry and wet and he seems to really like it.

he just turned 1 in september and he is no where near skinny, he is a beefy 80 lbs and very active, just eats when he wants and what he wants.

the vet says i need to stop worrying so much, he will eat when he is hungry...

have you had your girl checked for parasites? just to be safe!
