I didn't realize it was already out. I've been seeing really good reviews on it--glad it's true. I'm going to order it from the library.

Re: 11/22/63 Stephen King

I finished it about 5 days ago and it was one of his best books IMO. Not my typical topics (historic and time travel) but I love Stephen King and his writing style. It was a fantastic book with a decent ending.

JUST started it today and am 150 pages in. I'm not a horror/ King fan, but love historical fiction.
So good, grabbed me from the first sentance. I don't 100% understand the rules of the time travel, but like it a lot.

YESSS!!!!!

I was reading a review on Goodreads that said there was a lot of Dark Tower related stuff in there as well, but I haven't read that series.

Re: 11/22/63 Stephen King

It was good. A little too long, in my opinion. I know he had to establish Jake's relationship with Sadie, but I think there was a lot that could have been cut. Up until page 700, I could have put it down and come back a day or two later. After that, it was a marathon to the end. He could have gone a lot of ways with the ending, but I was satisfied. I usually think King has trouble with his endings after all the good suspense, but this totally worked for me.

I never read "It", but I saw the movie back in like '90. I realized when they mentioned the clown that those kids were from that. I wasn't sure I liked that. If you're a regular king reader and a fan, then I'm sure you loved it. As someone who has only picked up a handful of his books, I felt like it was something that didn't really belong. I didn't realize there were Gunslinger references--it's been ages since I read those. Wonder what they were....

I read it in a few days. I couldn't put it down!! I really loved it!! I am not a fan of his really scary stuff. I did read the Green Mile series and saw a few of his moves (like Shawshank redemption). Having not read or seen IT, I obviously didn't catch those references but I did catch a few others.
We read it as a part of our book club and I am so glad I recommended it! I can't wait to talk it out with everyone! Chat Icon
