12 obstacles, mud, fire...
There is also the spartan race and tough mudder, but I think those are a bit more intense.
This was my first race of any kind and i'm officially addicted! Going to sign up for my first 5k soon (either this month or in Jan).
ETA: Did it in 39:34.45, age group 197 out of 681.

This reminds me of the road rules/real world challenges.... looks like sooo much fun!!
I tried to go to the website to look up some race times and it said it was unavailable (i think because for ny the august 2012 dates were already listed)... do you have a list you can post of how people finished?

Mybrother does them all (warrior dash, rugged maniac, tough mudder, spartan etc) and always begs me to join him. After my marathon i plan on signing up for a few. Great pics! Glad to hear you had fun!

Thats awesome! Looks like you loved it! My friend also posted pics from that same race.. looks great!
DH does the Tough Mudders.. they are longer but each one if different. He did one in Vermont earlier this year that was INSANE (had to climb up a black diamond ski slope while carrying a log), but just completed one in Jersey that was manageable. Its about 12 miles but people in all different kinds of shapes compete and you go at your own pace. You should check it out when it comes to your area

I did it in August up in Windham (NY)!
It was SO much fun! My girlfriend and I did it together. Dh was bummed afterwards that he didn't do it (he's not a runner but could've easily trained for it!)
The next wacky race I'm looking into doing is this one:
