Needy dog!
I love love my Sandy but OMG is she so freaking needy. She must be touching me any chance she gets & she sleeps with us. Its getting to the point now where I'm not sleeping well how on earth am I going to reclaim my bed.

Put her in her own bed and let her cry it out
Seriously, i've been there with our chihuahua. I've had to put her in the dog bed in the living room a few nights when she would cry at the foot of our bed when I didn't let her up.

Re: Needy dog!
You can train her to stop this behavior. I posted a separation anxiety protocol my dog trainer gave me awhile ago...basically you give your dog a kong or marrow bone and while they have it you are totally unavailable to them. Do not look at them or touch them during the time they have it. Start with a short time period then increase the time. Getting her out of your bed is going to take more time and energy. I would get her bed and put it right next to yours- Play with her where you have her go to her bed and reward her with a small treat...do a few repetitions with her a few times a day...then at night send her to her bed and reward her.

Re: Needy dog!
Oh I dont know if I can look at those sad puppy dog eyes. Its my DH fault. She used to sleep in a crate years ago then I went away one weekend & when I got back she was in my spot.
She is a Shiba Inu who has a very high pitched cry when she is not happy. Guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet.
