do you fry them or just cook them in the sauce?

I broil them 8 minutes on each side then add to the sauce.

I bake mine at 350 for about 20-25 minutes, on a broiler pan, and then add them to the sauce.

I put them in the broiler for a few minutes to brown them then finish them off in the sauce.

I used to always bake.. but lately I have been frying and then making the sauce in the dutch oven that I fried them in (using the bits on the bottom as the base to sautee my onions and garlic and such before adding tomato.). My family REALLY prefers it fried and then added to the sauce..
