Does anyone know of a good therapist located in Suffolk county, more east and possibly on the north shore?

Hi,

I highly recommend Gail Michele of Access Counseling in Hauppauge. She is phenomenal! I know other members on here have taken my advice and have been very pleased.

Re: Therapists

I highly highly HIGHLY recommend Lynn G. at Sage Hill Counseling in Smithtown.

Sage Hill Counseling
(631) 864-1477
823 W Jericho Tpke #1C
Smithtown, NY 11787

She is, I honestly have no words, she is unbelievable. She has helped me more than I can even express - and I'm proud to say it! Because after Kenneth was hurt I was having SUCH a hard time. She doesn't 'specialize' in that type of counseling - like, when something traumatic happens - she is a general counselor and I think she does a lot with relationships/divorce/mediation - so it's funny because I didn't go to her for what she apparently does most - but she was equally amazing! It's like she specializes in EVERYTHING!

I have referred three different people to her who are just as pleased as I am - so hopefully you can be too! Good luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Therapists

You can also use psychologytoday.com to help you in your search. My DH is listed that way and a lot of people find him through that. Usually they have a written blurb about themselves and will state if they take ins or not. Good luck!

Children/adolescents/adults but in learning, attention, developmental, social, emotional and/or behavioral difficulties

. Unfortunately I don't think he would have a recommendation for someone in the area you are looking.Chat Icon

I forgot to mention that on that site it will tell you what areas they specialize in. That should help you narrow it down

Thank you everyone, truly. I am just going through a little bit of depression, not able to focus, etc. it's been worsening since December when dd and I has pneumonia, and then she got really sick, ended up with tubes in her ears. I was literally out of work for a month, and then my first day back I coughed and broke a rib. I didn't stay out long enough for that to heal (because I didn't want to get in trouble) and now on the 5th, I was triaging an 8 year old ( I am a pediatric er nurse) and the kid became unresponsive and stopped breathing. So, I scooped the kid up and brought her into anther room to help her and in the process rebroke my rib. So now I am going to be out for 6'weeks or longer:0( and to make matters worse i can't pick up dd, etx. Just feel helpless. So thank you for the referrals I really appreciate them.Chat Icon
