Posted by LDrinkh20 If you can't have eggs, I would try to get some other sort of protein n your breakfast. Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, protein powder etc. Plenty of people I know don't eat typical breakfast foods for breakfast...they will have turkey or chicken even!
That's what I've been trying to do, at least when I find it on sale - the greek yogurt - LOVE IT!!
Awesome--one of my favorite meals..I usually have it pre workout but its great for breakfast as well---fat free plain greek yogurt, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup kashi puffs (very low in carbohydrates) and cinnamon. Heat the berries up, and mix everything together..SOOO good!
And I know i have said this a bunch but throw a scoop of protein powder into oats with almond milk---HEAVEN!

Re: Weight Gain on WW
I know that WW wasn't very successful for me. My doctor told me that they have a lot of people it isn't successful for. It depends on why you are having trouble with gaining weight or losing in the 1st place. For some people they need to modify it or try a different diet to fit their particular issue. I would definitely try all the wonder advice given on here but if it isn't working for you - you might want to try something else because it might help. I know that they said if you are insulin resistant it isn't always the best diet for you unless you know how to tailor it for your personal condition.

Re: Weight Gain on WW
I can't eat eggs, they don't agree with me - which really sucks, because my breakfast used to consist of the most delicious egg white/spinach wrap thing, and now I can't touch it. I tried cottage cheese once and it was NOT a good experience ...
Maybe I have the wrong idea of what is healthy carb intake, but I don't understand. Do you really think that 3/4cup of cereal is so high carb that this is why I'm not losing weight? I don't eat the crackers or triscuits with hummus on a daily basis. I rotate it with the other snacks I listed before.
DO you have food allergies? This could be a reason that you are not losing weight. If you have not been tested maybe you should consider it. If you cannot eat eggs and dairy then find other sources of protein- There is not rule that says we must eat breakfast foods in the morning.
As for your carbohydrate intake ALL of the snacks you listed are high in carbohydrates. Fruit is very high in sugar especially Bananas. One banana has about 27 grams of carbohydrate that is 3 grams shy of 2 servings of carbohydrate. A serving of carbohydrates is 15 grams. All of your listed snacks exceed 15 grams of carbohydrate most are close to two servings therefore 3 snacks equals six servings of carbohydrate. WW does not focus on macronutrients and it does not count fruit if it is consumed raw... this does not mean if you stay within your points range you are eating healthy it just means you are staying with in your points range. Do not get the wrong idea I am not saying fruit is bad for you just that it HAS calories and MOST of them come from carbohydrates. Try keeping a food diary, measure all of your food for a few weeks and keep track of your macronutrients (I use fitday.com) to see what you are eating then you can modify your intake. If you suspect you have a food allergy or intolerance try an elimination diet. This is where a food diary is helpful. You can track what you eat and also how it affects your body.

Re: Weight Gain on WW
Wow, I never knew that about bananas - dammit, my fave fruit!! I've been eating them for the potassium too, I find I'm not as sore after workouts when I eat them.
As far as the food allergy goes - I'm not sure what the issue is. I can eat anything made with egg, just not the eggs themselves, which is so weird! It used to be only when I ate eggs over easy, and in the last year, I noticed it with egg whites too. Nothing gross happens, but about an hour after I eat eggs, I feel like death for the next 4 hours, until I eat something else. Same thing with yellow squash, but not zucchini, go figure!
I do have an update for you guys though - I tried not eating all of my activity points after workouts, and FINALLY saw improvement this morning!! I lost 3 lbs, which, after the gain last week, puts me down 2.
I really appreciate all of your input. You guys really opened my eyes to a lot! Keep all the good tips coming!!!

I would still eat bananas. I sometimes eat 2 bananas a day and I lose weight on WW carbs get a bad rep sometimes. I honestly eat alot of carbs and manage to lose or maintain my weight on WW. (This is after losing and keeping off 60lbs). IMO it all depends on the person. I would still have a banana. It's not like its bad for you! The whole thing about WW is not having unlimited, free fruit. It's about trying to get in more fruits and veggies but limiting it to 5 servings per day. It's so funny that you mention the issue with eggs. I can't eat eggs either (but I also can't have products with eggs). I ALSO have an issue with squash as well! I wonder if its something in the stomach that affects both the squash and egg breaking down. So weird!
Anyway, a big congrats on losing more! Sometimes we hit a plateau, but it always feel good when we get past it!

I don't think she was saying that carbs are bad...and I know I wasn't. I think what she was saying (or at least what I took from it) was that most of the snacks listed were strictly carbs and that proteins should be added. 5 servings of fruit and veggies can add up to 100 grams of carbs (depending on what you have) and when paired with grains and other foods can really ADD up!! WW is great, for me it helped me lose weight but didn't help me achieve my fitness goals because the lower point foods were carbs so I was a carb fiend. I know the plan is different now though.
I dont care what diet you follow---tracking your macronutrients--not just points or calories is what will really helpt o make a difference in the end.

Lauren completely understood what I was saying! By all means eat a banana but get some high protein snacks/meals in there. Like Lauren said 5 fruits/veggies a day can add up to 100g of carbohydrates or more this is without eating any other foods. Tracking your macronutrients is VERY important...you need to know what you are putting in your body and what your body responds best to...Personally I have always tracked my food intake. I spent the first 25 years of my life trying to keep weight ON to maintain a healthy weight. The benefit of tracking your macronutrients is you learn what your body responds BEST to...everyone is different so making an individualized diet plan is important.

Oh no I didn't read it as you saying bananas were bad. Obviously they arent! I just didn't want the original poster to think she couldn't eat them...since she even said they were her favorite fruit! I eat two a day. I feel that in general (not on here that anyone said in particular) carbs can get a bad rep because people don't realize its not about eliminating carbs its more just monitoring what you eat. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it to come across that anyone on here was saying carbs were bad. I should have elaborated!
To the OP -> "Good Health Guidelines" which ensures that you have the appropriate amount of protein, whole grains, fruits/veggies, water, daily vitamin, etc. for consistent weight loss make sure you follow your Good Health guidelines. This will help you ensure you get in the appoproriate amount of certain types of food. This seems to be a part of the plan some people miss. It's more than just counting points. It's dividing your daily diet to include a balanced diet that will keep you satisfied! ! Good luck!! Keep it up!

Oh no, I didn't take it as you saying bananas were bad, but it figures that out of all the fruit in the world, my favorite has the most carbs!
