Has anyone had their DC in surf lessons?

DH is an occational surfer and I got my first board and took a few lessons when I was 20 and surfed for bit then stopped once we got engaged and started wedding planning then we got pregnant 3 months later and then 10 months after having DS we got pregnant again so needless to say I haven't surfed in few years but can't wait to start again after having this baby.

That being said. We both want to surf, we have a boat, live on the South Shore, live at the beach in the summers. I really want my boys to surf but would never, ever trust myself to teach them and would love for them to take lessons but I have no clue at what age that would start. We have him in swimming at Safe-T-Swim in the winters then continue teaching him ourselves in the summer in the bay. Swimming starts early, he started at 5 months but I can't find any info about preschool surfing. Is that too early? I figured earlier the better, less fear. That's what they say about skiing and stuff, have you seen those kids 4-6 yrs old skiing down the mountain...FLYING down, tricks and all. No fear LOL.

I know Bunger in Babylon and Quiksilver in Long Beach, Gilgo, and Montauk have summer surf camps but all start at age 8. Anyone know of anything earlier?

There is a surf shop in Sayville that advertises lessons. Let me see if I can find the name.

ETA: Looks like Sayville is just the 2nd location of the Bunger Surf Shop in Babylon.

My friend's daughter did surf lessons with Bunger in Sayville over the summer and LOVED it. If we are working by the summer we'd love to get Noah and Robbie involved too.
